TourSmart Inc. is seeking four extremely creative Research and Social Media Interns with unparalleled writing skills to assist with our expansion into the D.C.& Boston metropolitan areas. The interns will gain valuable hands-on research experience traveling all over the D.C. & Boston metropolitan areas and getting to know the city like no one else. Interns will also learn how to effectively utilize social media as a secret weapon for viral marketing campaigns. In turn, the interns will be exposed to a fantastic Start-Up work environment that places value on creativity and teamwork. The internship will require 10-15 hours per week of work from September - February (duration of internship is negotiable). Our internships are PAID at a stipend rate and in addition we provide some support for travel expenses. We are a remote company and thus the majority of work will be done in the field rather than in an office environment. Additionally academic credit can be provided with the partnership of your college or university.
Principle Responsibilities:
  • Research, write, and submit for approval tours of the Washington D.C. & Boston metropolitan areas under the supervision of the internship coordinator.
  • Photograph landmarks using our smart-phone resource collector and scenery to work in conjunction with the written tours.
  • Record the spoken audio versions of all written tour material.
  • Publish the complete tour using our TourSmart Inc. web and smart-phone software after receiving approval from the internship coordinator.
  • Use social media integration to successfully contribute to our viral marketing campaign.
  • Compose blog posts for our TourSmart Inc. Blog regarding our product as well as trends in the tourism industry.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with experience both writing and editing electronically published content for an organization.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Previous experience in a start-up environment preferable but not required.
  • The ideal candidate will be very tech-savvy and comfortable using web based applications as well as Droid and iPhone apps.
  • Facebook account required. Blogging and limited social media marketing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Google Docs and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with development of smart-phone apps is a HUGE PLUS but not required.
